A Little History About PTBO Used Tires
We were established in 2003. At that time the business was exclusively the sale and service of quality used tires. In 2005, at the request of our customers, we started carrying and selling new tires.
Finally, in 2012, we relocated to a 10,000 sq ft facility at our current location, 810 Rye Street, and returned to what we do best: providing the best and biggest variety of tires to customers and repairing tires, we no longer do general auto repairs and have put all of our focus on tires. We also added custom wheels and accessories to our lineup. Fast forward to now, we’ve come a long way in the 20 years we’ve served Peterborough and the surrounding area, and we only have our customers to thank.
Gerry
Gerry started his career in 1973 working for Goodyear Tire and Rubber retail division at their Waterloo store as a Manager Trainee. Eight months later he was promoted to Assistant Store Manager of the same location and a year after that to Store Manager in London On. and then in Oakville On. He started Peterborough Used Tires in 2003.
After a brief stint working with two Independent Tire Companies, Gerry along with a Partner opened a commercial tire business in Burlington On. Over the next twenty-four years, this business grew to include passenger and light truck tires, mechanical services a used tire shop and a staff of twenty. In 1998 the decision was made to leave the city for the calm of the Kawartha’s.
